Makeup fails and how to fix them

In the world of makeup, there are moments when we've all made mistakes. From foundation lines that are clearly visible to overly accentuated contouring, sometimes things just go wrong. But let's be honest, it's these mistakes that teach us and help us grow in our makeup skills.

Beauty fails and how you can prevent them

Let's face it, we've all seen a photo of ourselves or looked in the mirror (in good lighting) and thought *cringe* how could I have gone out like this? I'll take you through a top 5 makeup fails and how you can prevent and fix them.

Too dark or too light foundation

Choosing the right color foundation online remains difficult, but fortunately, you can get color advice from Boozyshop! Now it can still happen that your foundation turns out too dark or too light. Don't worry, there's an easy solution for both problems.

I get it, we all want to look sun-kissed, but a foundation that's too dark isn't the solution. This makes your face look like you're wearing a mask. Even blending towards your neck will be noticeable to everyone when your foundation is a shade or two too dark. If your foundation is too dark, you can solve this by mixing the color with a lighter foundation or a white foundation like this one from LA Girl -->> White Foundation.

Is your foundation too light? This is even easier to fix! By using a bronzer, you can still give your face a nice glow and make the rest of your face beautifully highlighted.

Clumpy Mascara

Been too enthusiastic with your mascara and your eyelashes look like spider legs? We've all been there. With a lash separator, you can try to save your lash look as long as your mascara hasn't dried yet and remove the excess mascara.

With mascara, it's important not to apply too many layers; max. 2 layers is enough. Also, it's best to avoid pumping with your mascara brush in the tube. This introduces air into your mascara, causing it to dry out and apply clumpy again.

Too much Blush or Bronzer

Have you had a heavy hand with your blush or bronzer? No stress, in the case of a powder blush or bronzer, take a clean powder brush and try to wipe and blend it away.

If you've applied too much cream blush or bronzer? Take your foundation sponge and stamp the remainder over your cheeks to soften the color. Not enough coverage? Then take a little more foundation and dab it over.

Eyeliner Fail

Not quite adept at creating a nice, sharp line with eyeliner? No problem, any mistake can be easily corrected with a cotton swab. Then take a flat concealer brush with a little concealer and draw it along your winged liner. Any mistakes are no longer visible, and you have a nice, sharp line right away.

Cakey Foundation

It's better to prevent cakey foundation than to have to correct it, but if it does happen, take a setting spray and a damp makeup sponge. Spray the fixing spray over your face and blend your makeup again with the sponge.

You can prevent cakey foundation by not applying too much foundation at once and blending it well with a makeup sponge. Make sure to have a good primer base and also don't apply too much concealer. Less is more with your facial makeup. When setting the foundation with powder, don't use too much powder, and again, blend it well. Baking looks beautiful in photos, but in real life, it can look very cakey.

I hope these tips help you prevent and fix makeup fails. With a little patience, practice, and the right tips, you can even turn the biggest makeup blunders into stunning creations. So don't be discouraged by a small misstep, take a photo and laugh about it later with your friends - remember that makeup is an art and that every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow.
