Toners
A toner, also called a face toner, goes on straight after your cleanser. It removes the last traces of residue and adds a first layer of hydration, so your serum and moisturiser absorb better afterwards. Most toners now do even more: they hydrate, soothe or gently exfoliate with mild acids. In this collection you’ll find every toner at Boozyshop: liquid, milky, as a pad or as a spray.
Toners: the first step after cleansing
Which toner suits your skin?
- Dry or dehydrated skin: choose a hydrating toner with panthenol, such as the Liquid Hydration 5% Panthenol + NMF Toner by Geek & Gorgeous.
- Irritated or stressed skin: a soothing toner, like the SOS Barrier Support Hypochlorous Acid Facial Mist by Revolution with hypochlorous acid.
- Oily skin and blackheads: an exfoliating toner with AHA or BHA, such as The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner.
- Dull skin and uneven tone: a brightening toner with niacinamide, such as the Porebright Niacinamide Refining Toner by Facetheory.
Toner pads, milky toners and toner sprays
Toner pads are pads pre-soaked in toner, like the Vitamin C Glow Bright Gel Toner Pads by Biovene. A milky toner is creamier and feels almost like a light lotion, for example the C4 Hydrating Milky Toner by Transparent Lab. Prefer to spray? A toner spray such as the Isoclean Hypochlorous Spray mists straight onto your face. You’ll find more sprays among our face mists.
How to use a toner
Use your toner morning and evening after cleansing. Pat a few drops into your skin with your hands, or apply it with a cotton pad if you want to exfoliate. Follow with an essence or serum and finish with a moisturiser. With an exfoliating toner, build up slowly and always wear SPF during the day.
