You are going on a trip and of course you want to take as much of your favorite skincare and makeup product as possible, even if you are only going away for a weekend and only taking your hand luggage suitcase. Unfortunately, this is often not possible and we are happy to help you. This way you prevent your favorite skincare product from disappearing into the trash before your eyes.

How much can I take in my hand luggage?

Large quantities have not been allowed in your hand luggage for over 20 years. Per person, you are allowed to take 1 litre of liquids, divided into containers of maximum 100 ml.

Fortunately, many brands have responded to this and your favorite brand probably also has a travel size packaging.

Your products should be carried in a transparent ziplock bag so that security can see at a glance what you are carrying. This can also be a freezer bag, but a nice transparent makeup bag gives a more luxurious feeling.

Cosmetics in your hand luggage

If your make-up is not liquid, such as: face powder, eye shadow or blush, you can take these with you without any limitations. However, if it concerns liquid make-up such as foundation, primer or lip gloss, they may contain a maximum of 100ml and must be in the ziplock bag. But also your cream products, such as lipsticks , cream contour etc. must all be in the bag. Creams are also considered liquid products.

Make sure your ziplock bag is not too full. It may not contain more than 1 liter. Tip! Divide your liquids when traveling with someone, so that you do not have to go over. This prevents hassle at security.

Nail polish in your hand luggage

Nail polish is also considered a liquid and that is why you can take it with you, but in your ziplock bag and the bottle may not contain more than 100 ml. But we don't think that is so difficult for a nail polish ;) This way you know for sure that your favorite nail polish arrives at your destination undamaged. We would only advise against painting your nails on the plane. Nail polish smells very strong and in a small space with recycled air this is not so pleasant for your fellow passengers.

Skincare in your hand luggage

Carrying your favorite skincare products can be a challenge due to liquid restrictions. Opt for travel-sized cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. Serums and eye creams often come in smaller sizes. Use multi-tasking products like a moisturizer with SPF or a BB cream that hydrates and covers.

Don't forget to hydrate your skin during the flight to prevent dehydration by the dry air in the cabin. Luckily, at Boozyshop you can shop many mini sizes of all your favorite (Korean) Skincare!

Helpful Tips for Liquids in Your Hand Luggage

  1. Use Travel Sizes: Many brands offer travel sizes of their popular products. Check to see if your favorite products are available in small sizes.

  2. No travel size available? Use travel friendly refillable packaging . You can easily make a travel size of your favorite skincare or haircare products.
  3. Consider Multi-Purpose Products: Use products that serve multiple purposes, such as a moisturizer with SPF or a BB cream that hydrates and provides coverage.

  4. Plan Ahead: Prepare yourself by packing your carry-on luggage well in advance and making sure you have all liquids in one ziplock bag. This will save you time and stress at the airport.
