By now, everyone has heard of K-beauty or Korean Skincare, but what exactly does it entail? I'd love to tell you more about it :)
What is K Beauty?
K Beauty is the umbrella term for skin care products that originate from South Korea. In Korea, there is a philosophy about skin care and the secret to a radiant, glowy skin without blemishes. But you have to make some sacrifices for that, a K beauty ritual is not just a cleanser and a moisturizer and go. No, most Korean beauty rituals consist of at least ten steps. From double cleansing your face to applying various toners, serums and creams.
Not a new trend but a hype!
K Beauty has been around for years, but due to new developments, K beauty has become a real hype in recent years. And you don't have to travel far to buy your new skincare must-haves, you can simply order them at Boozyshop, your trusted makeup and beauty webshop!
Your new skincare ritual?
Because K Beauty has so many steps it is often preferred over makeup in Korea. Because yes, if you have flawless skin, you don't need that much makeup to cover it up ;-)
After your facial cleansing, the general rule at K beauty is, start with the thinnest (essence) and end with the thickest product (moisturizer). To give you an idea of a Korean skincare routine, I'd like to give you a short summary of all the steps;
- Double cleanse (First an oil-based cleanser and then a water-based one)
- Exfoliate
- Toner
- Essence
- Eye cream
- Serum / booster or ampoule
- Facial oil or a mask (You can skip this step if you don't have time for it in the morning)
- Moisturizer
- SPF (morning only)
