Everyone wants to look their best on their big day, but what are Wedding Makeup Do's and Don'ts?

Do

Natural make up, on your special day you want to look as beautiful and radiant as possible. By using natural shades you emphasize your own natural beauty. Think of natural brown shades or soft purple shades.

Don't

Black smokey eyes, red lips or very bright colors, these types of looks can look too intense and do not look natural. Also avoid trying a completely new look on your wedding day, but do this before your wedding. That way you know sure it's a look you'll want to see in your wedding photos for the rest of your life.

Do

Look at the colors of your bouquet and clothing and match your makeup to that. Do you have peachy shades in your bouquet? Then take a peach colored lipstick or blush. Do you still choose pink or purple shades? Then let this come back in your eye shadow , blush or lip color .

Don't

Green tones in any form! Green emphasizes redness. As a bride, you often don't sleep well the night before your wedding, with red eyes as a result. Better choose for example a yellow corrector and purple tones in your eye shadow.

Do

Have your nails done a few days to a week before your wedding, this way your cuticles can recover and your nails will look their best in the photos of your rings!

Don't

Epilation , sunbed or extensive sunbathing on the beach within 24 hours before your wedding. This is in connection with the recovery of your skin. A burnt skin is very difficult to apply evenly, because foundation does not adhere well to the skin. Therefore, pay extra attention to applying SPF in the weeks before your wedding.

Do

Set your makeup well with powder . And powder again during the day, so your makeup stays beautiful and your photos look perfect too!

Don't

Baking. Baking may look very nice in a photo, but in real life it is not very natural to wear such a thick layer of powder on your face. And on this day you go for a beautiful, natural makeup look.

Do

Waterproo f mascara and eyeliner , because let's face it, you're very likely going to shed a tear (or two). Whether it's during the ceremony or during a family sketch at the party that makes you laugh so hard, you're definitely on the right track with waterproof! Also try the mascara out well in advance, so you know for sure that you like it and that it does what you want from your mascara on your wedding day.

Don't

Regular mascara and eyeliner duh, see above ;)

Do

Gently scrub your lips with a toothbrush on the eve of your wedding and then apply a good lip balm . Hello soft lips!

Don't

Wearing a lipstick that transfers a lot, your partner to be also wants to look good in the picture, without smearing lipstick.. If you have a color that you absolutely want to wear, but that is not so transfer-proof, we have a golden tip! Apply your lipstick and apply setting powder over it, blot with a tissue and apply another layer. This way your lipstick will stay beautiful longer and it will also transfer less quickly.

Do

Bronzer , this gives your skin a beautiful sunkissed glow and is perfect for bridal makeup.

Don't

Using a foundation that is too pale, a foundation that is too pale in combination with a white or cream colored dress is not a success. This can make you look very gray. Is your foundation perhaps a bit too light or do you have a very pale skin? Bronzer baby! This way you create the illusion of a tanned skin.

And the last Do

Follow your own style. The above don'ts are of course tips :) Do you wear Smokey eyes, red lipstick or do you go for a look that not everyone would wear at your wedding? Do it! You should feel good and beautiful yourself! It's your special day!
