In the world of makeup, there are times when we’ve all made mistakes. From foundation lines that are clearly visible to overly accentuated contours, sometimes things just go wrong. But let’s face it, it’s these mistakes that teach us and help us grow in our makeup skills.

Beauty Fails and How to Avoid Them

Let's face it, we've all looked at a photo of ourselves or looked in the mirror (in good lighting) and thought *cringe* how did I walk out the door like that.. I'd like to take you through a top 5 makeup fails and how to prevent and fix them.

Foundation too dark or too light

Choosing the right foundation color online remains difficult, luckily you can go to Boozyshop for color advice! Now it can still happen that your foundation is too dark or too light. No need to worry, there is an easy solution for both problems.

I get it, we all want to look tanned, but a foundation that is too dark is not the solution. It makes your face look like you have a mask on. Even blending it out towards your neck will be obvious if your foundation is a shade or 2 too dark. If your foundation is too dark, you can solve this by mixing it with a lighter foundation or a white foundation like this one from LA Girl -->> White Foundation

Is your foundation too light? This is even easier to solve! By using a bronzer you can still give your face a beautiful complexion and the rest of your face looks beautifully highlighted.

Clumpy Mascara

Were you too enthusiastic with your mascara and do your lashes look like spider legs? We've all been there. With a lash separator , as long as your mascara hasn't dried, you can try to save your lash look and remove the excess mascara.

With mascara it is important not to apply too many layers, max. 2 layers is enough. In addition, it is best to avoid pumping with your mascara brush in the tube. This will pump air into your mascara, causing it to dry out and therefore apply clumpy again.

Too much Blush or Bronzer

Did you have a heavy hand with your blush or bronzer? Don't stress, in the case of a powder blush or bronzer take a clean powder brush and try to sweep it away and blend it.

Did you apply too much cream blush or bronzer? Take your foundation sponge and stamp the excess over your cheeks to tone down the color. Not covered enough? Take a little more foundation and dab it over the top.

Eyeliner Fail

Not quite skilled in applying a nice, tight line with eyeliner ? No problem, you can easily correct any mistakes with a cotton swab. Then take a flat concealer brush with a bit of concealer and pull it along your winged liner. Any mistakes will no longer be visible and you will immediately have a nice, tight line.

Cakey Foundation

Cakey foundation is better prevented than corrected, but if it does happen to you, use a setting spray and a damp makeup sponge. Spray the fixing spray over your face and blend your makeup again with the sponge .

You can prevent cakey foundation by not applying too much foundation at once and by blending it well with a makeup sponge. Make sure you have a good primer base and do not apply too much concealer . Less is more with your face makeup. When you set the foundation with powder, do not use too much powder and again, blend it well. Baking looks nice in the photo, but in real life it can look very cakey.

Practice makes perfect

I hope these tips will help you prevent and fix makeup fails. With a little patience, practice and the right tips, you can turn even the biggest makeup blunders into a stunning creation. So don't be discouraged by a small mistake, take a picture and laugh about it later with your girlfriends - remember that makeup is an art and every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow. Keep experimenting, keep laughing and let your creativity flow!
