4 Essential Tips for Hiding Dark Circles and Bags Under Eyes
1. Mix your color corrector with your regular concealer
One of the most effective ways to hide dark circles is to mix your concealer with a (peach) color corrector . Start by applying two dots of color corrector to the darkest part of your under-eye area. Then, use five to six dots of your regular concealer and spread it under your eyes. Blend everything in well for a seamless finish. By doing this, you will completely cover up your dark circles and your makeup will look much more natural than if you simply applied concealer over the corrector.
2. Use an orange corrector for very dark circles
If you are dealing with very dark circles , a peachy corrector might not be enough. In that case, it is best to use a pure orange color corrector. Orange neutralizes the deep discolorations much better than lighter correctors, especially if you have dark circles that are not well covered by your usual concealer. In this case, apply your normal concealer over the layer of corrector, do not mix them together! This will give you a natural effect and the orange pigment will be nicely covered.
3. For mature skin: choose a hydrating concealer
Do you have mature skin and find that your concealer is creeping into the fine lines around your eyes? Then it might be time to switch to a hydrating concealer. Anti-aging concealers tend to be thinner and contain more hydrating ingredients, which is better for mature skin than heavier, matte formulas that can settle into lines and often look unnatural on mature skin. Apply your concealer and blend it in. Set it with a pressed powder per eye immediately. This prevents the concealer from settling into lines and ensures that your makeup stays in place all day long.
4. Concealer against dark circles and edges
If you suffer from dark circles or bags under your eyes, this next tip can work wonders. Apply a lighter concealer along the edge of the darkest part of your bags to visually hide the discoloration. Fill in the area between the lighter concealer and your eyes with a concealer that matches your skin tone and blend them well. This will camouflage your bags and dark circles and give you a fresh, awake look.
